The Working Groups are composed of the National Focal Points for the Carpathian Convention and/or persons nominated by them. Working Group (WG) meetings are open to observers, and depending on the thematic focus of the WG, representatives from partner organisations and NGOs also attend to contribute their expertise.    

WGs assist the Conference of the Parties and the Carpathian Convention Implementation Committee in their duties. In intimate forums, WGs discuss particular issues that need to be analyzed by experts before the main organs will decide on them.
